Dams Can't Keep Bridge Deck Dry

Dams installed in Lubber Run have worked well in recent months to keep the river from overflowing this chronically-flooded bridge close to the Lubber Run Amphitheatre. However, the rain this morning was too much for the pair of berms just upriver from the bridge.

Rain water overwhelmed the pair of dams designed to slow the water as it approaches this bridge over Lubber Run. (Click to enlarge the image.)

Weather.com called for about one quarter inch of rain today, but the National Weather Service already puts the measurement between one-quarter and one-half inch.

If you were wondering, I was walking my dog, so that's why I was out in this mess. --ST
