Wind Gets the Better of Fence
The wind got the better of this fence along N. Pershing Drive. It had been keeping the public out of the demolition site of Buckingham Village 1. According to the Weather Channel, the entire region is under a wind advisory until at least 1 a.m. Tuesday, which means wind gusts of at least 46 m.p.h. are expected. As well, the advisory predicts downed tree and power lines. The wind is caused by a large storm system pushing through Pennsylvania, northern Maryland, and the northeast in general, various meterologists are saying. During the Thanksgiving Day weekend, the fence surrounding the townhomes under construction on N. George Mason Drive also blew over. Both times, the fences ended up in the sidewalk. Neither fence is tied down or anchored with anything more than the cement blocks at their bases. Labels: BV1, redevelopment, weather
